Community Outreach

Bryan is proposing the creation of a Township Social Worker position, tasked with bridging the gap between residents and crucial state aid programs. These programs include LIHEAP, LIHWAP, TANF, food stamps, substance abuse support, and housing vouchers. Additionally, the social worker would provide support to property owners in accessing benefits such as the senior freeze, STAY NJ program, veterans’ deductions, and ensuring residents receive their entitled ANCHOR benefits.

Recognizing that government resources are often underutilized due to lack of awareness, Bryan emphasizes the importance of reaching out to residents directly. By meeting people where they are, this initiative aims to ensure that our community members are informed about available assistance programs. Importantly, Bryan believes that establishing this position can play a vital role in preventing the emergence of additional homeless encampments in our township.
