MEET BRYAN

Hello Neighbor!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my vision for Neptune. I am eager to earn your support!

I graduated from Rutgers University in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, supplemented by minors in Political Science, Sociology, and Criminology. During that time I was a participant and board member of various clubs and organizations.

I currently work as a Housing Specialist for a nonprofit. My job is to assist homeless single mothers and families in securing safe and stable housing, with the aim of preventing the separation of children from their parents into foster care. This work is not only one of the most challenging jobs I've had but also one of the most rewarding. It's a genuine privilege to work with underserved individuals who are actively trying to rebuild their lives and to be able to contribute in a meaningful way. This career path has provided me with insights that extend beyond empathy—it's taught me the intrinsic value of extending help to those who truly need it. Moreover, it has underscored the inherent challenges individuals face in navigating government resources and programs. These firsthand experiences position me to advocate for and ensure that Neptune residents, too, have access to the assistance they deserve.

I previously had a decade-long career in property tax assessment and am a Certified Tax Assessor. I feel this experience uniquely positions me to navigate the town’s reassessment program. I am confident that my background in tax assessment equips me to ensure Neptune residents are not burdened with more than their fair share.

As a member of the Recreation Committee, I've had the opportunity to volunteer at various events, including Neptune Day, Hooked on Fishing, National Night Out, and more. As a member of the Township Committee, I would continue a commitment to making sure that we have the best parks and recreational programs for both kids and adults.

Over the past three years as a member of the Planning Board, I've come to understand the balance that our community requires—navigating open space, responsible development, affordable housing, and commercial ratables to alleviate property taxes. I am a proponent of development that is not just smart but aligns with both short-term needs and long-term community goals.

I've been a member of the Police Oversight Committee since its expansion in April of 2021. In that time, I've had the honor of contributing to the selection of two police chiefs. While acknowledging areas for improvement at both local and state levels, I firmly believe that Neptune sets an example as one of the more forward-thinking and community-oriented police departments in the state. This is not just a result of policies but stems from the exceptional men and women who serve in our Police Department. I believe that a big reason for this is the prioritization of hires from within Neptune. If granted the privilege of serving on the Township Committee, I would continue to work towards enhancing the safety and security of all neighborhoods in Neptune.

After a 21-year career as an amateur rugby player, I now find myself semi-retired. During this time, I had the honor of serving as the Executive Director of 7s Rugby for the Empire Geographical Union. Rugby not only allowed me to travel the nation, competing in various cities, but it also granted me the gift of lifelong friendships
